Q: Describe your experience during the creation and rehearsal process of Golden Sessions. What have been the most challenging and rewarding parts of learning this ballet?
A: The creation process happened quickly, yet still evolved into something beautiful with all of the sections coming seamlessly together in the final love, Agape. It’s been challenging to do a lot of quick pointe work especially in Storge and Philia, but at the same time it’s so nice to be doing a ballet en pointe again since we have not done a ballet en pointe since March.
Q: What is your favorite movement of Golden Sessions to dance and why? How would you describe the choreographic style of this movement?
A: My favorite movement to dance is Philia because it’s a very happy movement in portraying the friendship kind of love. The choreographic style is very light and airy.
Q: Why should audience members see Golden Sessions?
A: You should come see Golden Sessions because it is a beautiful ballet that brings so much joy. This ballet is a breath of fresh air that will leave you wanting more. As the ballet unfolds, each movement describes the four loves in such a unique and powerful way, with them all culminating together in the last movement of Agape. You don’t want to miss it!
