Dancer Fun Facts | Ford Tackett
Get to know the professional artists of Ballet 5:8 as we ask them about their hometowns, favorite dance memories, and people who helped them succeed.
Where is your hometown? What is it like?
My hometown is Colorado Springs, CO. It is a medium-sized city and is located at the base of a 14,000-foot mountain.
Is there one person that helped you get where you are today? If so, tell us a little about them and your journey.
As a team, my parents are the ones who helped me get where I am today. Whether I was dancing or cleaning the floor, they encouraged me, taught me to be excellent in what I do, love God and love my neighbors in the process, and walk in the truth.
What is one favorite or funny memory from your years of dance training?
My favorite memory from dance training is the way I was accepted and encouraged by those who were so much better than me.
What is your favorite thing about summer in Chicago? Do you have a favorite place to visit/local restaurant/activity?
I like the heat of summer and enjoy walking through the forest preserves.
Last thing—what in the upcoming 2021/22 season are you most excited for?
I am most excited about returning to a full season of touring and performing.
