Ballet 5:8 will be presenting The Mother and The Living Room Series by Artistic Director Julianna Rubio Slager. The Mother is a visceral interpretation of the poem by Pulitzer Prize author Gwendolyn Brooks, and The Living Room Series is a customized, breathtaking performance curated especially for Open Window Theatre and our Fall Art Fair.

In the center of homes, generations gather, wisdom is shared, and relationships are both built up and torn down. The Living Rooms Series recreates the cyclical stories that shape lives through meaningful, intimate, and exquisite dancing. Some are playful, and some are tumultuous, but each living room moment shapes the story we carry out into the world.
