Company Audition Form - Deadline for Applications is March 15

Since Ballet 5:8’s first performing season began in August, 2012, the Christian professional performing company has been pleased to receive an overwhelming amount of support from the Chicago-area community and beyond. Performance opportunities have included the International Arts Festival in Daley Plaza, Chicago, a joint theater run with Tapestry Dance Company at Links Hall in Chicago’s north neighborhoods, an appearance at Moody Bible Institute’s Missions Conference, and many small performances for church congregations in the south suburbs. Continued opportunities, including a Michigan tour, are upcoming in the second half of the season.
Thankful for the growing momentum of the first season, Ballet 5:8 is pleased to invite dancers ages 20+ to audition for the 2013-2014 performing season. Ballet 5:8 is seeking male and female company artists for paid contracts; additional unpaid positions are available for company apprentices with the potential to progress to paid contracts. Additionally, Company Artists and apprentices are given priority consideration when applying for separate teaching contracts in the Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts.
Qualified candidates should have graduated from a reputable pre-professional training program, and most candidates should have spent a minimum of 1-2 years in a Trainee or equivalent post-high school training program. Ballet 5:8 reserves the right to refer Company Artist applicants to the Trainee Program.
Finally, Ballet 5:8 is a Christian missions organization; therefore, Company Artists serve as modern-day missionaries in addition to performing artists. Applicants should have spent ample intentioned prayer time regarding Ballet 5:8 prior to applying for a position. Moreover, eligible candidates need to have a passion for worship and a serious desire to see the Gospel of Jesus Christ furthered through the arts.
