Develop a Love for Dance
The Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts Children’s Division is designed to foster students’ expression through movement and love for dance. Classes take young dancers through a series of fun exercises that teach concepts including rhythm, coordination, musicality, spacial concepts, basic ballet steps and positions, and ballet class etiquette. Students are placed in levels according to age, and each level is tailored to students’ maturity and ability.
Children’s Division classes have just the right combination of formal instruction and fun to keep dancers engaged and learning throughout class in a constructive and uplifting environment.
Students are placed in the Children’s Division according to age. Classes focus on developing a love for dance and teaching foundational dance concepts that prepare students for further study of dance and classical ballet.
Mommy and Me Creative Movement
Mom’s and students are invited to explore dance together! Students joining Creative Movement should be age two.
Preschool Ballet I & II
Students joining Pre-Ballet I & II should be age three. Students stay in Preschool ballet for 1-2 years until moving to Elementary Ballet in the first fall semester after turning age five.
Elementary Ballet
Students joining Elementary Ballet should be age five .
Children’s Tap
Recommended for ages four through seven years. Tuition is discounted for students already enrolled in another Children’s Division class.
